FAQs

Evaluations are encouraged but not strictly required.

An evaluation will help determine if a swimmer is ready for the recreational team or needs more foundational training, and is useful to gauge skill level and group placement.

You can schedule an evaluation here.

If your athlete is legal in three strokes, including freestyle and backstroke, and able to provide legal proof of time from the NVSL, USAS, or equivalent organization then you are welcome to skip the evaluation process and directly register your athlete with the appropriate age group.

Proficiency in at least 3 out of 4 strokes, including Freestyle and Backstroke.

Breaststroke and Butterfly are encouraged but not required.

Rolling payment options are available. Please contact swimming@thestjames.com to discuss your options.

The administrative fee is a one time fee charged to each family during registration that covers the following:

  • STJ branded swim cap and shirt
  • Coaches training
  • Administrative costs

STJ Members receive a 20% discount off of registration.

You can make up the missed practice within the session with advance notice to your coach.

For swim meets all athletes will be required to arrive in a STJ Swimming shirt/sweatshirt. All athletes will also be required to wear their STJ Swim Cap to all practices and meets.

The spectator seating is available for anyone who wants to watch practice. All spectators MUST be on the upper level of the pool house, and not on the pool deck.
